OUR VISION
For every student athlete to have a Sport to Career Transition Plan for career and professional development.
OUR MISSION
To develop technologies to help student athletes become well-rounded individuals.
WHAT DO WE DO?
We offer an online Sports Transferable Skills Assessment (STSA) for athletes to discover soft skills learned from sports. We map those skills to our signature interactive tool, My STSA Compass. Then we use the data to create a Sport to Career Transition plan for their life.
WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Second Shot is the first and foremost company to develop research-based, innovative technologies based on computer science, psychology, and athlete development.
*Our tools and materials are based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation and the Professional Association of Athlete Development Specialist Certification (PAADS).
Playing sports teaches you skills that are extremely beneficial in other areas of your life. The STSA will help you identify those skills.
What will you do after you play sports? Employers value athletes and you bring a lot to the table. The STSA will give you a comprehensive plan and recommend careers based on your sports transferable skills.
Your talent to play sports is just one aspect of you. The results of the STSA
will reveal other talents and skills that you have.
Find out these skills as early as possible and use them to strategically plan your future. The STSA will recommend educational courses, colleges, and careers based on your results.
You are in control of who you are where you are going. The STSA will equip you to have focus driven conversations and strategically plan your life.
Be prepared for when you transition out of organized competitive play. The STSA will give you a roadmap to help you have smooth transition to your next step in life.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?
"As a former athlete I understand the sports culture. I've lived the life of a D1 athlete and experienced playing overseas. I know how sports can be beneficial in one's life. There is a need for tools that are made specifically for athletes, that speak the athletes' language. I have those tools to share with the world."
